After school clubs:- Performing Arts

The focus this afternoon was to think about the ten most important aspects of giving a stage performance and what to consider when 'it's a scary story.' Miss Reynolds listed the groups ideas onto the board. Some of the ideas included the importance of facial awareness, voice projection, keeping the audience engaged and body language.  They then discussed which they thought were the most important, this led to some debate, as to how the list should be ordered.  In a large circle the group then put these ideas into practise as they each took a turn to act out or describe a story about a 'haunted house.'

After school club:- Cookery

This afternoon the cookery club were making 'French Bread Pizza'. Firstly the group worked together to create a tomato base. To do this they used pessata tomato, mixed with tomato purée, then added some garlic powder. After choosing from a variety of toppings including Mozzarella, Ham, Sweetcorn, Pepperoni and baby plum tomatoes. The chefs then got to work on slicing and chopping their chosen toppings. The tomato base was spread onto the French bread slice and then it was time to add the toppings, which they all managed to do in creative, eye catching ways. Once cooked the chefs then sat down to share a taster of pizza. The aroma as everyone agreed was fantastic and the taste delicious!

The ponies have been named Bluey & Rose.

' and  'I'm gonna be a mighty king' both taken from the very popular film 'Frozen'. The children sounded in fine voice this afternoon with enormous beaming smiles!

After school club:- Art & Design

Focusing on colour,  pattern and lines the children in art & design club had to firstly draw a square. Diagonal lines were then added to make cone shaped triangles. Wavy lines, which resembled a smile and frown were drawn in. They then had to decide on two contrasting colours and used these to carefully, colour sections until it gave the illusion of  3D pencils.

After school club:- art & crafts YR 1/2

The year 1/2 art & craft club have been busy this week using their cutting skills to make a moving Ginger bread man.  Firstly they had to  cut around the body, head arms and legs. Split pins were used to fix them together. After mastering the technique they then set to work on decorating a choice of various animals, including mouse, rabbit, dog, cat and parrot, which they cut around, then joined with the split pins to produce moveable animals. Georgia decided her favourite part was decorating the animals. Whilst Finley said he liked "making his ginger bread man dance!"
