After. School clubs:- Art & Crafts year Reception

Reception
As the Art & Crafts clubs have always proved to be so very popular, it was decided to have two clubs running each week. This afternoon it was the turn of the reception children, who were keen to use their fantastic listening skills to follow Miss Goodings instructions on how to make ' pipe cleaner people'. Concentration, good fine motor skills & hand eye coordination were essential for this. The children had great fun and were extremely pleased with their results.

After school club:- Football year 1/2

Football year 1/2
As usual the energy and enthusiasm shown by the year 1 and 2 children was immense. As the football club kicked off for the summer term it was great to see some new players having been signed for this term. The focus for this afternoon was to teach individuals the importance of how to play as a team. A roll on roll off program was used, also the small goals were used which is great for practising accuracy.

After school clubs Karate

Following the fantastic display in the sharing assembly at the end of the spring term. The karate club were happy to welcome some new faces. The afternoon began with a warm up then it was straight into a line up to learn various blocking and punching techniques. Sensei Danny explained to the group
how in karate the body is devided into three separate areas. The upper part from the top of the head to the neck is known as Jodan. The middle from the chest to the waist is the Cudan and the lower from waist to feet is the Gedan.

After school club:- ICT

ICT club have begun the summer term looking at the 19th century, artists Andre Derain and Georges Seurat who used a technique called "pointillist" technique. Instead of using brush strokes to paint, they put small dots of colour on the paper. By using the 2simple program 'to paint a picture' and mixing red, yellow and blue the children worked hard to created their own paintings in this style.

After school club:- Football

Football year 5/6
This week Mr Clark has been focusing on the children's movement and passing skills. After some warm up activities it was time to choose the teams for a match. This responsibility fell to the captains Yinka and  Success. Mr Clark remarked on Tyler Houlston and his "fantastic goal keeping skills". Also Russell Lockhart who showed "tremendous technique" when he netted home 4 goals.

After School clubs:- Sewing

Sewing club got things underway for the summer term with a new pair of helping hands. Mrs Seabrook who is Caitlin Bowdens Nanny has very kindly agreed to help out over the coming weeks. I feel sure her help will be much appreciated as the sewing begins to create their ponies.
