After School Clubs - Nail Art

The girls in Nail Art Club have been working so hard his term to create some wonderful nail art designs. They have all shown how confident they are at trying more trickier designs and have needed very little help along the way. The group have used the materials with care and taken their time to perfect their nail art wheels.

'It takes a lot of patience, concentration and a steady hand to keep your work neat', Teni Adu.

'I liked being shown how to use striping tape, and how to make a reindeer using nail polish', Lilly Reynolds.

'I enjoyed being creative with all the embellishments we had. The sequins were so tiny and really tricky to pick up individually', Jessica Sampson.

'I have been practising at home, and have been researching different designs', Brooke Atkinson.

'I have completed my nail wheel by using lots of colours, patterns and bows', Grace Gore.

After School Clubs - Fashion Design

The members of Fashion Design Club demonstrated team work by working together in order to create various pieces of clothing using fabric.

'It was fun seeing how many ways we could wear one piece of material, the dress we made for Lilly-Anne was my favourite!' Alice Adedipe.

'We thought about all the different types of clothing we wear at home. This helped us to come up with so many ideas', Aaliyah-Shae Vidal.

Together they came up with a plan on how they would decorate a shirt. Using fabric pens, they each had an input into how they wanted it look.

'The fabric pens were great fun to use! Megan and I helped one another by taking it in turns to pull the material tight, this made sure our drawings were neat', Evie Cottam.

Broadford B Team Dazzle!

Last night, our football team had a very convincing win against Drapers Brookside. Even with the cold wind drifting across the pitch, they didn't let this effect their performance. The boys took the lead very early on and kept possession very well. With some fantastic goals from Levan Towe-Enu, Oliver Hatwell and Ellis Curtis-Rich the boys won 5-0. A fantastic result!

After School Clubs - Multisports

The children of Multisports have been very busy this term playing a variety of sports and games.

The children have learnt the correct techniques to throw and catch a ball, learnt how to dribble a football, played parachute games and become masters of dance!
Each week a different sport is played and they children enjoy working together to enhance the skills they learn.

'When you catch a ball you have to have soft hands and you pull the ball into your chest', Michael Sloane.

'I liked playing with the parachute,' Ruby Welch.

As we look to the rest of the half term, the children of Multisports are excited to play more new sports and games, such as javelin throwing!

Multisports club is a great way for your children to gain an extra hour of exercise each week. There are great benefits to active children:

  • stronger muscles and bones
  • less likely to become overweight
  • decrease the risk of developing type 2 diabetes
  • lower blood pressure
  • have a better outlook on life

After School Clubs - KS2 Gymnastics

The KS2 gymnasts have been busy this term working on a wide variety of skills including rolling, balancing, jumping and beam work. They have shown some great skills and a determination to improve and learn.

This week we have been busy working on pair and groups balances. After being introduced to a few simple pair balances, the gymnasts chose which balances to try out before creating their own. The gymnasts had to show great reciprocity as they communicated and work together. Safety was vital and the gymnasts listened to directions well, ensured their partners were safe and they worked within their abilities.

"We need to remember to hold each others wrists" said Charlie as he helped Samuel into their pair balances.

Take a look at just a few of the balances we created today.......

After School Clubs- Film Club

This week in Film Club, we finished watching 'Madagascar' which was had been greatly enjoyed by us all. To bring the film to life, we then created our own television adverts using drama in groups. The pupils really got into character and persuaded each other to watch the film using techniques such as mesmerising voices, action scenes that didn't give too much away and direct appeals to the audience.

Creating an advert was fun because I enjoyed the film and want to persuade other people to watch it too!
