After Schools Club: What a job we've got!

Gardening Club, over the last three weeks, have been tackling the huge weed-takeover in the year group beds! What a battle it has been!

But the hard work will all be worthwhile when we start replanting. Well done, team!

After School Clubs -Sewing

The sewing club was a hive of activity this afternoon as the children worked together showing great reciprocity when making bags. Courtney reflected on how she enjoyed sewing the parts together but decided she would use stronger material for the handle next time.

After School Clubs-Cricket 5/6

Dynamic diving was evident in cricket club this week as they used the soft play equipment to practise their catching skills. The fantastic throwing by Miss Cook meant that the children needed to use, not only, great hand-eye coordination but also sharp agility when diving to catch the ball.

After School Club - Cookery

It was all very exciting at cookery club this week as Mr Borrell bought in a wood burning pizza oven!! The children chose and prepared the toppings that they wanted for their individual pizzas and then into the oven they went! The children were impressed by the speed of the oven, one pizza took two minutes to cook and was ready to eat. They even had their own individual pizza box!

After School Club - Art and Design

In Art and Design the children have been looking at the French painter and sculpture Jean Dubuffet. His playful style is fun to imitate and can encourage some very creative portraiture.
We started by doing a blind drawing of the person sitting opposite us, then sectioned it off and used three colours to draw horizontal and vertical lines within the sections.

Frog Watch!

Freddie, our eagle-eyed frog spotter, spotted 3 frogs in our school pond during Gardening Club. Unfortunately, only one liked the camera!  We were clearing some of the algae to allow sunlight and oxygen in.  Check out our masses of frogspawn!

Hama Beads club Yr Rec / 1 / 2

Just look at the creativity shown in the Hama beads club this afternoon! From a flower to a lion, tank, rainbow circle and Pacman  to name but a few.
"Pacman needs to have a black mouth and black eyes, then lots of yellow" said Finley.
Andrea explained "I've made a lion as I wanted to do a big animal."
Connie said "I'm making the body right now, it's  going to be a frog!"
