Year fives go to Royal Liberty to do science experiments
On Monday 12th March 2012 the year fives had the chance to investigate a variety of science experiments. They went inside a drama room and a man (who had lots of animals) let us hold some of them. All of the animals he had were: a frog, snake, rat, tarantula, giant cockroach and a giant snail. One of the things we learned was that a snake can grow up to five feet long. The year fives liked holding the animals especially the slimy ones.In addition, their favourite bit was being able to experiment with chemicals. Overall, the highlight of the day was when the man did a jelly baby rocket and the teacher told them a story saying a little Jelly baby in Jelly Baby Land was in a lot of crimes and the people of that land sent him to be executed. In Jelly Baby Land their execution is to put them in chemicals and shoot them away so we had to put him in the test tubes. Miss McGuinness thought that the day was really good but wished we had more time to do the other activities available . Having a surprise fire drill was another exciting moment of the day.
